UPDATE (09/07/06): Some media outlets are reporting that the TiVo Series 3 will be available this month, perhaps as early as the 17th, for a retail price of $799. Check back here for updates as the potential launch date approaches.

This is the homepage for TiVo Series 3 HD DVRs, prototypes of which were shown at CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas earlier this year. Features include:

• Dual Tuner support
• Standard definition and high definition recording
• HDTV output (480p, 720p, 1080i)
• CableCard support (2 single stream cards or 1 multistream card)
• Optical sound output
• HDMI/DVI and Component output
• Ethernet jack
• External Serial ATA connection for external hard drive
• Native playback mode - instructs the TiVo to play back the file in the resolution & format which it was originally recorded
• 2 USB 2.0 ports
• Coaxial Antenna and Cable inputs
• New, redesigned remote -- backlit, aspect button for HD programming, weighted, dedicated directional buttons, grooves on bottom for orientation
• 250GB or 300GB hard drive (this has not been finalized, and there have been conflicting reports regarding capacity)
• Expected in the second half of 2006
